Care tips:

• Light: Bright indirect light is the sweet spot — enough light brings out the silver veining beautifully, but keep it out of harsh direct sun which can scorch the leaves.
• Water: With PON in a self-watering pot, keep the reservoir topped up and let it drop to nearly empty before refilling — the plant will sip what it needs and the roots stay perfectly aerated.
• Humidity: Alocasias love humidity around 60% or higher, so a humidifier nearby or grouping with other plants will keep it thriving.
• Temperature: Keep it consistently warm, above 18°C, and away from cold drafts or air-con vents. Not cold-hardy.
• Substrate: PON suits it beautifully — an inorganic, airy medium that holds moisture without ever going soggy. If ever repotting, stick with PON or a chunky aroid mix.
