Plants grown in a lab — yes, really
Tissue culture is a way of growing plants in a lab instead of from seeds or cuttings. Scientists take a tiny piece of a plant — sometimes just a few cells — and grow it in a sterile jar with nutrients. Over a few weeks, that tiny piece develops into a full little plantlet. One mother plant can produce hundreds or even thousands of identical babies this way.
Why does that matter for you?
Because these plants start life in a completely clean environment, they come out disease-free and pest-free. No fungus hiding in the roots, no hitchhiker bugs. They're also genetically identical to the mother plant, so you know exactly what you're getting — no surprises.
For plant lovers, tissue culture is one of the best ways to get your hands on rare varieties without paying a fortune. Labs can multiply rare plants at scale, which brings the price down and makes them accessible to more people. It's also a fantastic way to learn about plants — watching a tiny TC plantlet grow and adapt in your home is genuinely rewarding.
How we do things at Faseela
Most of our plants are sourced as tissue culture plantlets from specialized labs in Asia — though not all of them. We work with trusted labs that produce high-quality, healthy plantlets.
When they arrive, these plantlets are used to life inside a jar — high humidity, sterile conditions, zero wind. The real world is a shock for them. That's where acclimation comes in. We gradually introduce them to normal conditions at our facility: adjusting humidity, light, and airflow step by step until they're strong enough to thrive in your home. This process takes time and care, but it's what turns a fragile lab baby into a hardy houseplant.
First of our kind in the UAE
We're proud to be the first online retailer in the UAE that specializes in tissue culture plants. This isn't a side thing for us — it's what we do.
Want to pick your own plants from the source?
We also offer an import service where you can choose plants directly from our supplier's catalogue. It's a great option if you're looking for something specific or want to explore what's available beyond our regular stock. Just keep in mind that with the import service, acclimation is on you — the plants will arrive as fresh TC plantlets that need to be gradually adjusted to your environment.
